Digital Position Indicators.

ELESA’s digital position indicators with the DD52R-E-RF system transmit the position of control shafts via radio frequency. Ideal for format change. DD51-E offers compact dimensions and direct control.

They are easy to install quickly and without cable laying. They represent an evolution from traditional position indicators, ideal for quickly transmitting data on smart machines where frequent format changes are required. They minimize setup times, reduce machine downtime costs during format changes, help increase plant productivity, save resources, and improve efficiency.

How do the DD52R-E-RF models work?
- Once the profile set by the PLC is selected, the UC-RF control unit transmits the position to each DD52R-E-RF or DD51-E indicator.
- The new position is displayed on the 6-digit LCD screen.
- The operator manually sets the position of the spindles following the arrow displayed on the LCD (clockwise/counter-clockwise rotation).
- Once all the spindles are correctly set, the UC-RF control unit communicates to the machine\'s PLC that the setup is complete.
- The system prevents the machine from starting until the installation is complete.

The UC-RF controller can network with up to 36 position indicators and is compatible with all the following interfaces:
- RS232
- RS485
- Ethernet/IP
- Profibus
- Modbus.

The 6-digit display mode of the position indicator can be selected by the operator.

The ELESA DD52R-E-RF wireless system won the German Design Award 2023 in the "Excellent Product Design – Industry" category.
 

Features:

The wireless indicators are powered by an internal battery with a lifespan of about 5 years. Battery replacement is easy through the front cover without needing to disassemble the indicator from the shaft.

They are used on through shafts to provide absolute or incremental positioning values of machine components.

The 6-digit display ensures excellent readability from a distance and various angles.

The protection rating is very high (IP65 or IP67), making it suitable for applications in the food industry, where frequent cleaning is expected.

Using the 4 buttons, it is possible to select incremental or absolute mode, choose the unit of measurement (millimetres, inches, or degrees), reset the absolute counter, or load the preset absolute origin value and preset offset value.

In programming mode, the 4 functional buttons allow you to program the reading after one full shaft rotation, rotation direction, display orientation, resolution (number of decimal places displayed), origin and offset values, maximum rotation speed, and set the button functions among the available options.

How do DD51-E models work?

The DD51-E system has the same features as the DD52R-E-RF model, but:
- Direct control
- Even more compact dimensionsbr /> - 5-digit display

Other mechanical and electric characteristics are compatible with the DD52R-E-RF radio frequency models.
